With White Knitting Cotton and 2mm needles (US 0, UK 14) cast

Row 3: Inc in first st, K4, (M1, K5) twice.
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: K6, (M1, K6) twice.
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: Inc in first st, K6, (M1, K6) twice, Inc in last st.

Work 4 rows stkg-st.
Decr 1 st both ends of next 3 rows. Cast off. Buttonhole st around outer edge
of ear to neaten. Sew 2 folds in cast on edge.
FRONT LEGS
With 3mm needles (US 2-3, UK 11) and white 8ply cast on 10 sts. Starting with
a knit row, work 8 rows in stkg-st. Cast off.
BACK LEGS
With 3mm needles (US 2-3, UK 11) and white 8ply, cast on 16 sts. Starting with
a knit row, work 8 rows in stkg-st. Cast off.
MAKING UP
Sew up body, leaving an opening on belly for stuffing. Taper nose seam so top
of nose is a smooth line. Turn inside out and stuff, stuffing rump and shoulders
firmly and waist less so. Tie matching yarn around waist and pull in slightly.
Sew up leg side seams only. Cut thin pipe cleaners in half. Bend into 3 x 1½ to
2 cm (½ to ¾ in) long loops. Squeeze loops tog to make claws. (Do not
be tempted to use cut end of pipe cleaner as these are needle sharp.) Tuck ends
into leg and secure with thread between claws. Stuff hind legs only with a piece
of fat pipe cleaner (9 cm long with ends bent back for safety) Attach ears and
legs. Trim fur around face and embroider a V for nose and upside down Y for mouth
and septum. Attach eyes, using dental floss.
TWO-COLOURED GUINEA PIG
Cast on with Tiger Cha-Cha and work as for White Guinea Pig to ***
Work in stkg-st until work meas 16 cm.ending with a purl row.
Join in white Cha-Cha and Knit 35 sts White, 31 sts Tiger. Work 2 cms in these
colours, ending with a purl row and remembering to twist yarns around each other
when changing colours to prevent a hole.
Shape Head.
Row 1: (White) (K2tog, K4) 4 times,(Tiger) K3, (White) K2tog, K5, (Tiger) (K2tog,
K4) 5 times, K2tog.(55 sts)
Row 2 and alt Rows: Purl in colours as set.
Row 3: (White) (K3, K2tog) 4 times. (Tiger) K3, K2tog, (White) K3, K2tog, (Tiger)
(K3, K2tog) 5 times.(44 sts)
Row 5: (White) (K2tog, K2) 3 times, (Tiger) (K2tog, K2) twice, K1, (White) K3,
(Tiger) (K2tog, K2) 5 times.
Row 7: (White) K2tog, K5, K2tog, (Tiger) K7, (White) K6, (Tiger) K3, K2tog, K5,
K2tog.
Row 9: (White) K7, K2tog, (Tiger) K3, (White) K10, (Tiger) K2tog, K6.(28 sts)
Rest of head is worked in white only
